“It’s still a boy!” was the funniest quote we got from our PA today.

We went in for a quick check-up this morning. Everything’s going well…the baby’s doing all the things he’s supposed to be doing, and we figured out that he has now turned around so his head is down. From that, it also means that he has been punching me instead of kicking me when I feel him move. LOL. He has been moving his arms around quite a bit, so I bet I’ve been getting elbowed. :p

Not many exciting pictures from this visit. It was kinda hard to see. He was turned facing my back, so we couldn’t see his face. So far we haven’t gotten many face shots yet. I guess he’s shy? But he sure hasn’t been shy about showing us his bottom. ) Maybe we’ll get lucky and get to see his face at our next appointment.

The next one is going to be the glucose testing, and another 3D sonogram. Should be fun.

We took a little bit of rest from baby preparation this week…although we did see some cute clothes at JC Penney for $4, so we couldn’t help but buy a few. ) Now if only we could get his furniture, that’d be great…

Our Peg Perego car seat, stroller, and diaper bag are in! UPS dropped them all off today. It was like Christmas in the house. The cats were all trying to figure out what these things are. And we were all trying to figure out how everything works. It was entertaining. It’s nice to start accumulating some things.

My buddy Ruth showed me this site that has a lot of Longhorns stuff for kids. So I went and registered for stuff. Was talking to my sis-in-law about it, and she ended up buying nearly everything! LOL. We’ll have a Longhorns-decorated nursery, I think. Ha ha. It’s got pretty cool stuff.

*Yawn* Tired today. Glad it’s Friday, finally.

This past week we got all signed up for various registries…Babies ‘R Us, Target, and Amazon.com. The Target one doesn’t have much stuff on it yet though ‘cuz we hadn’t visited the store yet. Links to each of them is on the left hand side. Just note that we’re not completely done so don’t go all crazy yet…

I caved and wanted a glider and ottoman. So poor Greg spent all Thursday tracking one down for me. The dude at the Lewisville BRU sent him all over the place and requested for the wrong ones to be put on hold at the other stores. *Sigh* So we drove all the way to the Addison store to pick up the glider Thursday night, only to find that it was the one with the sage colored cushion instead of the sand colored cushion. I don’t suppose it really matters all that much…but would’ve been nice to know what we were getting before we got there. BRU’s inventory system really needs a lot of help…nobody seems to be able to find anything. The manager at the Addison store said they didn’t have the sand colored one in stock at all. So we just ended up taking the sage colored one, and the manager gave us an additional 15% off of the regular price of the glider (there was a 20% off sale that ended Thursday night). So when it was all said and done, we got the glider for about $170 less than retail. Not too bad I s’pose. I went and picked up the matching ottoman today at the Hurst store before coming in to work (yes, I’m at work on a Saturday). Glider/ottoman saga is complete.

Today was also our community garage sale. Greg found a high chair, some toys, and a few books from our neighbors across the street…all for about $15. ) Wheeeeeeee.

We’ve accomplished quite a bit since the last time I wrote. We have…

Ordered baby furniture (we got it in black).

Ordered stroller and car seat.

Found and registered baby in day care.

Yep. Based on my boss’ advice, we went ahead and looked for a day care since a lot of them have a 4-6 month wait list, especially for infants. So we found one today that was really nice and not totally out of the way. It’s actually right across the street from the gym that we go to. How convenient. The lady there working the front desk was soooo nice. We walked in, told her that we were looking around for day cares and wanted to take a look. She just totally dropped everything she was doing and took us on a tour. We spent a lot of time looking in the infant and toddler rooms…and we saw the 3-yr-old rooms, etc. The place was really clean and orderly. The kids appeared to be well-behaved. Hee hee. And, what’s more, is that it’s a Christian school, so that’s a plus.

We left there basically thinking that we’d go with that one…we went to one that was closer, walked in, and then got the Heisman when we asked for a tour. The girl who greeted us answered the phone and promptly disappeared. So we left. Go figure. Then we turned around and went back to the 1st place and signed up.

So things are rolling right along. I’m sure we’ll find other things that we need to do. But so far so good.

Here’s news that you all have been waiting for…it’s a…BOY!!!!

We met with Dr. Moser today and her fancy 3D sonogram machine. At first the baby was all curled up in a little ball, and she wasn’t sure if she’d be able to tell the gender. We looked around awhile when she did her measurements. Then about 10 minutes into the appointment, the baby decided to straighten out and we got really good looks of…ummm…well, boy parts. We also got to see his face. He’s so cute. He’s got my nose. ) He was sucking his thumb for a little while too. I’ll post some pictures here, with some links back to the photo album so you can see the rest.

Dr. Moser also said that he’s gonna be a big (tall) baby. He already has long bones and stuff. He certainly didn’t get that from me! LOL. He’s weighing about 12 ounces right now.

The baby’s breech right now, but Dr. Moser said he should turn around at some point. Maybe he doesn’t like to be upside down, just like me. Ha ha ha.

We go back in 4 weeks to meet with Jennifer, the PA. And then we go back again to see Dr. Moser at 28 weeks for another 3D sonogram. We should be able to see a lot more on that one.

Speaking of…he’s kicking me right now. Hrmph. He must know that I’m talking about him.

Here are pics:

We’re closing in on the halfway point! We met with April, the doctor’s PA, today for our appointment. It was mostly to do a medical history and the screen for down syndrome, etc. The baby got much bigger since last time (s’bout time to get me some new clothes). You can clearly see his hands and fingers. It was pretty cool. Check out the videos.

Our next appointment is in mid-May…at about 20 weeks. I think Dr. Moser’s going to use the 3D machine again. Wheeeee. ) Maybe baby will be more cooperative this time around.
